Diversification of the economy of Aruba

In May 2018, stakeholders came together to discuss the meaning of diversification for Aruba. The discussions resulted in the six Promising Sectors being able to develop and diversify the economy of Aruba. The COVID-19 pandemic made it even more urgent to diversify the economy to become less dependent on external factors, to mitigate risks and to strengthen the economy internally by increasing production.


Key sectors and subsectors

The sectors vary in terms of technological depth but include six promising sectors: tourism, knowledge economy, agriculture, logistics, circular economy and creative industry. Below are the key sectors and their subsectors:
